  • Glass thermometerGlass thermometer is manufactured through a dozen procedures, such as artificial firing, liquid filling and so forth. It chooses round or triangular rod glass as raw material, mercury or organic solution as the temperature sensing liquid, such as kerosene, alcohol and so on. Its advantages are low price, accurate measurement, convenient use and no need for external power. It's widely used in daily life and production ...
  • Hot Water ThermometerThe material of hot water thermometer is mainly copper and iron. It has its temperature sensor. Hot water thermometer is mainly used to measure water temperature. It's applicable for HVAC service.

  • Bimetal ThermometerIndustrial bimetal thermometer adopts a multilayer metal sheet as temperature-sensing element to control the pointer. The multilayer metal sheet is formed by two (or more) metal sheets that are laminated together. The element works on the principle that two different metal expand in different amounts when temperature changes. For example, there are two winded and ring-shaped metal sheets. One metal sheet ...

The multilayer metal sheet is formed by two (or more) metal sheets that are laminated together. The element works on the principle that two different metal expand in different amounts when temperature changes. For example, there are two winded and ring-shaped metal sheets. Description:
Thermometer is the general name for temperature measurement instruments. It is used to record continuously and automatically temperature changing with the time. It estimates and measures temperature accurately. There exist various kinds of thermometer, such as kerosene thermometer, alcohol thermometer, mercury thermometer, gas thermometer, resistance temperature thermometer, thermoelectric thermometer, radiation thermometer, chromo–thermometer, optical thermometer and so forth. Different types of thermometer work according to different purposes. It is useful for customers to know their characteristics so that they make correct and effective use of them.

Here are some design bases:
1. The phenomenon that solid, liquid and gas will have thermal expansion and contraction when influenced by temperature.
2. In a constant volume conditions, gas (or vapor pressure) changes with different temperature.
3. Thermoelectric effect
4. Resistance varies with temperature
5. Thermal radiation influence
Generally speaking, as long as a substance possesses a physical attribute that varies monotonously and noticeably with time, the substance can be used to mark temperature and made into a thermometer.

Working principles of some types of thermometer:
1. Gas thermometer. It is largely used for precision measurement. It adopts hydrogen and helium as temperature-measuring material because hydrogen and helium have very low liquefaction temperature, which is near absolute zero. So, gas thermometer can measure a wide range of temperature and works in a very accurate way.
2. Resistance thermometer. Resistance thermometer has two types, metal resistance thermometer and semi-conductor resistance thermometer. They are both made on the base that resistance varies with temperature. Metal resistance is mainly made up of pure metal, such as platinum, gold, copper and nickel. Some are made up of rhodium iron or phosphor bronze alloy. Semiconductor thermometer is mainly made up of carbon and germanium. Resistance thermometer is reliable and convenient. Its measuring range is -260 ℃ to 600 ℃.
3. Thermoelectric thermometer. Thermoelectric thermometer is made on the basis of thermoelectric phenomenon. It is used to measure the gap between two substances that have large temperature difference. It is largely used for high temperature and low turbidity measurement Some thermocouples can measure temperature up to 3000 ℃,  while some can measure temperature close to absolute zero.
4. High temperature thermometer. High temperature thermometer is particularly designed to measure temperature above 500. It's not suitable for low temperature measurement.
5. Pointer thermometer. Pointer thermometer, also known as the thermometer, is used to measure room temperature. Its shape is like a dial dashboard. It is made on the basis of the phenomenon that solid, liquid and gas will have thermal expansion and contraction when influenced by temperature.
6. Glass thermometer. Glass thermometer is made on the basis of the phenomenon that solid, liquid and gas will have thermal expansion and contraction when influenced by temperature. The common glass temperature mainly concludes kerosene thermometer, mercury thermometer and red pen water thermometer. Several advantages of glass thermometer are simple structure, easy operation, low price and relatively accurate measurement. Well, it's delicate.
7. Pressure thermometer. Its basic structure is divided into three parts, the bulb, capillary pipe and the indicator. Its advantages are simple structure, high mechanical strength, vibration resistance, low price and no need for external energy. There are two disadvantages, restricted measuring range, from -80~400℃, slower response to big heat loss .
8. Mercury thermometer. Mercury thermometer is one type of expansion thermometer. It's used to measure temperature ranged from 0~500℃. It is just used for on-the-spot supervision. It is simple and intuitive. And it can avoid the error that external telemetering thermometer makes.
